The "ISKNET" network promotes the development of new 5G and beyond technologies. On the one hand, the expansion of high-performance networks via application-oriented innovations is intended to strengthen the innovative power of SMEs and bring wireless networks such as 5G campus networks with new features and product innovations even further into the market. On the other hand, the network aims to find a solution to integrate advanced 6G innovations into current technology development and thereby expand the level of technology in the field of high-performance networks.

The globalised society and world economy rely heavily on information and communication technologies (ICT), increasingly on wireless connectivity. 5G and beyond and 6G will enable new applications and unique services, not only for consumers but also for new industrial players creating new business opportunities (B2B, B2C business models). With regard to future wireless networks that require fast, simple and massive connectivity, the performance of existing high-performance networks is not sufficient to enable easy access for a large number of end devices. Users in particular are struggling with the patchy interoperability of the networks. Despite lower end-user receptivity, interest in high-performance networks is particularly high due to their ability to handle exponentially growing data volumes, support real-time applications and increase competitiveness.
